When Angela realized she would be in town during the Susan B. Komen's, Race For The Cure 5K, she suggested the idea that a bunch of us girls should run it together. Especially since it is for Breast Cancer. The Stevens Family girls also did it...I wish I had a picture of all of us. Thanks for everyone for supporting me & Joyce Forman (Grandma to the Steven's Clan who was diagnosed with breast cancer the summer before me). The team was called, "Joy Ful Lee". In the past few years I thought it would be fun to run a marathon but a 5K would be a great place to begin. I started training about a month and a half ago. I have never run 3 miles before so this was a good goal for me. My training run is the loop here in Hillsdale which is 2.2 miles with 2 good size hills. I thought if I could run that then I would be able to do a 5K on a flat course. I am kind of proud of myself....I did it and didn't even have to stop at all during the run. I finished with a 10 minute a mile average. I was just happy to finish. Angela did awesome! She's use to the marathons like Kristie. Kristie is still recouperating from the Boston Marathon and Lacey wasn't allowed to run it since she is in High School Track. I'm not sure why they have that rule but next year we will probably all do it. It was fun! I got a special medal for being a survivor and for participating. There were over 10,000 people either running or walking the 5K.

Here is a neat picture of my wonderful husband Rick who has supported me all through this cancer thing. He is so good to me. I love him so much! I am so blessed!

Here is the rest of the family supporting us as we ran by. It was Tom's birthday today. We had a fun celebration after it was over. Note, Cole's black hair. Yep, he dyed it while at a friend's house a few weeks ago. Ya, I think he just wants to be like me with my dark wig.

What a beautiful day! What a wonderful supportive family. Thanks to my family for helping to push me as I trained for this race. You guys are awesome! I am truly blessed!

That is so neat that you guys ran that race. When I read about it on Angela's blog I got a little teary-eyed. You are an amazing woman!! Your hair is growing fast! You look great, and I must say I also think you look adorable in the 'grandma hat' :). That is so nice of you to watch Angela's boys. Whenever my mom (or Joey's mom) watches my kids I don't have to worry at all about them. I know they are being well taken care of, loved and having fun! Looks like you guys have been having some great times lately.
